Russian Bot Activity Collapses 84% After Yandex Data Center Strikes
Original: Russian Bot Activity Collapses by 84% After Strikes on Yandex Data Centers
Ukraine's Centre for Countering Disinformation reports that Russian bot activity on social networks dropped by 84% following strikes on Yandex data center infrastructure. The analytical report suggests much of the pro-Kremlin automated messaging relied on computing capacity housed in the damaged facilities, and that the outage exposed the scale of coordinated inauthentic accounts.
Why now: The dramatic link between physical infrastructure damage and a sudden collapse in bot traffic offers rare measurable evidence of how Russian influence operations are run.
