Russian Bot Activity Drops 84% After Yandex Data Center Strikes
Original: Russian Bot Activity Collapses by 84% After Strikes on Yandex Data Centers
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation reports that Russian bot activity fell by 84% following strikes on Yandex data centers. According to the analytical report 'When Bots Go Silent', the infrastructure damage appears to have sharply curtailed coordinated automated accounts operating across social platforms, suggesting much of the activity depended on Yandex-hosted systems. The findings are drawing attention for linking physical infrastructure damage directly to measurable drops in online influence operations.
Why now: Strikes on Yandex data centers have been linked to a dramatic, measurable collapse in Russian bot activity, raising questions about how automated influence campaigns are run.
