Children asked to rear harvest mice at home for Devon release
Original: Wanted: children to rear harvest mice at home for wild release in Devon
Two Devon teenagers, Eva Wishart and Emily Smith, have launched a project asking children to rear harvest mice at home before releasing them into the wild. They aim to breed and release 250 of the tiny mammals by September to boost local populations.
Why now: The unusual invitation for children to hand-rear wild animals and its conservation goal has drawn public attention.
