A member of a Czech ICT trade union has shared a personal film recommendation, pointing fellow workers to Harlan County, USA, the 1976 documentary about a bitter Kentucky miners' strike. The recommendation is framed as an answer to the question of how someone becomes a unionist, aimed at people weighing whether to join a union or wondering why union membership matters.
Why now: The film's depiction of labour struggle resonates with current interest in union organising among tech workers.
