India beat Pakistan to Asian Games cricket gold, no handshakes
Original: No handshakes yet again as India beats Pakistan to clinch cricket gold at Asian Games
India defeated Pakistan to win the cricket gold medal at the Asian Games, but the two sides again skipped the traditional post-match handshake, extending a recent pattern of frosty relations between the arch-rivals on the cricket field. The result gives India another continental title, while the continued refusal to shake hands is drawing as much attention as the victory itself.
Why now: Renewed India-Pakistan political tensions are spilling onto the cricket field, making the missed handshake as newsworthy as the gold medal.
