The Marylebone Cricket Club has dropped its plans to fast-track female membership, according to a New York Times report. The decision concerns the long-debated pace at which women can join the historic Lord's-based club, a long-standing equality issue in cricket. The move is drawing attention within the sport and among those following the club's membership policies.
Why now: The MCC's membership policy is a high-profile equality issue in cricket, so news of the abandoned plan is drawing interest.
