Cuba to stay on daylight saving time until 2027
Original: Cuba is skipping its November 1, 2026 clock change and staying on DST until 2027
Cuba will not turn clocks back on November 1, 2026 as it normally would, instead remaining on daylight saving time until November 2027. The move means the island will keep an offset of UTC-4 for a full year rather than returning to standard time. Observers note this follows recent shifts in Cuba's timekeeping practices, which have changed several times in recent years, and affects scheduling for travel and communications with the island.
Why now: An unusual, indefinite extension of daylight saving time disrupts schedules and time-zone expectations for people dealing with Cuba.
