Xbox to charge hourly fees for streaming games you already own
Original: Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you bought
Microsoft's Xbox is preparing to charge gamers an hourly fee, reportedly between 24 and 40 cents, to stream titles they have already purchased. The plan has drawn criticism from players who argue that paying extra to access games they own amounts to double-charging, and it has reignited debate over digital ownership and the rising cost of cloud gaming services.
Why now: Gamers are reacting to the idea of paying recurring fees to access games they already bought, touching a nerve about digital ownership.
