Xbox proposes hourly fees to stream games players already own
Original: Xbox wants you to pay 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games you bought
Xbox is floating a pricing model under which players would pay roughly 24 to 40 cents per hour to stream games they have already purchased, according to an Ars Technica report. The proposal has drawn immediate criticism from gamers and commenters, who argue that charging per hour to access titles people already own sets a troubling precedent for digital ownership and subscription fatigue in the gaming industry.
Why now: Gamers are reacting to a reported pay-per-hour streaming fee for games they already bought, seen as a new low in monetisation.
