Self-hosted dead man's switch launches for solo developers
Original: Show HN: Death Plan Switch, a self-hosted dead man's switch for solo devs
Death Plan Switch, a self-hosted dead man's switch aimed at solo developers, has been released. The tool lets a developer set up automatic messages or access handovers that only go out if they fail to check in, covering the risk that a one-person project disappears with no one able to take over. Discussion is focused on its usefulness for independent maintainers of critical software.
Why now: Solo developers increasingly maintain critical software alone, and tools for digital continuity after death or incapacity strike a chord.
