Self-hosted dead man's switch for solo developers launches
Original: Show HN: Death Plan Switch, a self-hosted dead man's switch for solo devs
A developer has released Death Plan Switch, a self-hosted dead man's switch aimed at solo developers. The tool checks in with its user regularly and, if they stop responding, carries out prearranged actions such as sharing credentials or notifying others. Hacker News users are discussing the setup, its security trade-offs, and how best to handle digital assets after death or incapacity.
Why now: Solo developers worry about what happens to their projects, servers and accounts if something happens to them, and the tool's launch prompted debate about practical solutions.
