Matt Mullenweg Orders Accessibility Revert, Bans WordPress Committer
Original: Matt Mullenweg Orders Accessibility Revert, Bans Core Wordpress Committer
WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg has ordered a revert of an accessibility change in the WordPress core and banned a core committer from the project, reportedly telling them to contribute their talents elsewhere. The move has drawn criticism from developers who see it as heavy-handed treatment of volunteer contributors and a setback for accessibility in one of the web's most widely used platforms.
Why now: The WordPress community is reacting to an unusually public and contentious clash between Mullenweg and a core contributor over accessibility work.
