Ukraine says Starlink access cut without warning
Original: 'This cannot be a coincidence' — Ukraine's Starlink access restricted without warning, Zelensky adviser says
A senior adviser to President Zelensky says Ukraine's access to SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet was restricted without warning, writing that 'this cannot be a coincidence'. Ukraine depends on Starlink to operate its mid-strike drones over Russian-occupied territory, so any disruption to the service has immediate military implications. The comments have drawn wide attention as observers question whether the restriction was technical or deliberate.
Why now: Starlink is critical to Ukraine's drone operations, so an unexplained restriction raises alarms about reliance on a single private provider.
