Ukrainian Drones Strike Lukoil Refinery 1,700 Km Inside Russia
Original: Ukrainian Drones Strike Russia's Lukoil Refinery 1,700 Km Away
Ukraine says its long-range drones struck Lukoil's refinery in Russia's Komi Republic, roughly 1,700 kilometres from Ukrainian territory, one of the deepest strikes reported inside Russia since the war began. The attack targets Russian fuel-export infrastructure as Ukraine continues its campaign against refineries to degrade Moscow's oil revenues and military fuel supply.
Why now: The strike's unprecedented depth inside Russia and its impact on Russian refining capacity make it a major escalation in the drone war.
