Ukrainian Drones Strike Lukoil Refinery Deep Inside Russia

Original: Ukrainian Drones Strike Russia's Lukoil Refinery 1,700 Km Away

Ukraine says its drones hit a Lukoil oil refinery in Russia's Komi Republic, roughly 1,700 kilometres from the front line and near the Arctic Circle. The strike extends Kyiv's campaign against Russian energy infrastructure, targeting facilities far beyond previously struck regions. Observers say the operation demonstrates the growing range of Ukrainian long-range drones and their ability to reach key Russian oil processing sites.

Why now: The unprecedented range of the strike on a refinery deep inside Russian territory has drawn wide attention amid the ongoing drone war.
