Original: 📚 Iulia Popovici a cercetat zeci de mii de file din arhivele Securității pentru a înțelege de ce oamenii de teatru dădea

Researcher Iulia Popovici combed through tens of thousands of pages from the Securitate archives to understand why theatre professionals informed on their colleagues during Romania's communist era. Her book was launched backstage at the National Theatre Bucharest and will be presented on 18 October at the National Theatre Festival. The topic reopens debate on collaboration and complicity in Romanian cultural life.

Why now: A new book on theatre informers is being launched at the National Theatre Festival, reviving discussion of the communist-era surveillance of artists.
