New city-building game where the city resists your building
Original: A city-building game in which the city would prefer you didn't
A satirical browser game puts players in the role of a developer trying to build housing in a city that fights back at every step. Instead of the usual power fantasy of easy expansion, the game simulates the real-world obstacles of zoning rules, permits, public hearings and local opposition, so every project becomes a struggle against the very city you are trying to improve.
Why now: It satirises housing shortages and restrictive zoning rules, a topic of heated debate in many countries right now.
