City-building game where the city resists your plans
Original: A city-building game in which the city would prefer you didn't
A new browser game lets players build a city that actively pushes back against their plans, with the metropolis itself acting as an obstacle to the player's ambitions. The twist inverts the usual power fantasy of the genre, and it has drawn attention on Hacker News, where discussion has focused on the novel design idea of a city that would rather you didn't build it.
Why now: The unusual game mechanic of a city resisting its own builder is a fresh take on the city-building genre that has sparked curiosity.
