Duquesne Light workers stay on strike as storms approach
Original: Duquesne Light workers remain on strike with storms expected to hit region this weekend
Duquesne Light workers in western Pennsylvania remain on strike, with severe storms forecast to hit the Pittsburgh region this weekend. The timing raises concerns about response capacity for potential power outages, as the utility would have to handle storm damage without its regular unionized field crews. Talks between the company and the union have not yet produced a resolution, keeping thousands of customers watching the weather forecast nervously.
Why now: The overlap of an ongoing utility strike with an incoming weekend storm raises fears of slower power restoration, making it a pressing local concern.
