Duquesne Light workers stay on strike as storms approach Pittsburgh area
Original: Duquesne Light workers remain on strike with storms expected to hit region this weekend
Duquesne Light workers are continuing their strike in western Pennsylvania, with forecasts calling for severe storms to hit the Pittsburgh region this weekend. The timing has drawn attention because the utility's crews would normally be the ones restoring outages and downed lines, raising questions about how quickly service can be restored if the weather causes widespread power failures.
Why now: An ongoing utility strike coinciding with an incoming storm threatens power restoration for residents.
