ACAB slogans spark French debate amid Brussels protest tensions

Original: acab

The anti-police slogan ACAB is drawing attention in France after tensions between young people and police in Brussels during a demonstration. On French media, commentators clashed over the slogans, with guests on RMC denouncing what they called a conflation of causes, citing ACAB, anti-police chants and Palestinian flags together, while others argued criticism should be directed at the government.

Why now: Recent clashes at a Brussels protest and a heated French media debate over anti-police slogans have put the term back in the spotlight.
