Writer swaps iPhone 15 Pro Max for base iPhone 17 with no regrets

Original: I 'downgraded' my iPhone 15 Pro Max to a regular iPhone 17 — and I have zero regrets

A Tom's Guide writer describes switching from the iPhone 15 Pro Max to the standard iPhone 17, calling it a 'downgrade' on paper but saying they have zero regrets about the move. The piece argues the regular model now offers enough performance, camera quality and features that the Pro tier no longer feels necessary, sparking debate over whether Pro iPhones are still worth the premium.

Why now: The new iPhone 17 line is prompting buyers to reconsider whether Pro models justify their higher price.
