Student pays £30,000 for a degree in influencing
Original: I paid £30,000 for an 'influencer' degree. Here's why https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c61mvy1emr2zo?at_medium=RSS&at
The BBC has published a first-person account from a graduate who spent £30,000 on a university course centred on social media influencing. The piece examines whether such degrees, now offered by universities as online careers reshape the jobs market, are worth the cost. It has drawn attention amid wider debate about the value of specialist degrees and mounting student debt in the UK, with personal finance audiences weighing in.
Why now: Debates about rising tuition costs and whether social media can be taught as a degree subject make the story resonate right now.
