Stray Kids joins BTS in Grammy boycott over Asian pop category

Original: Stray Kids follows BTS in Grammy boycott over Asian pop category

Stray Kids have followed BTS in boycotting the Grammy Awards in protest over the Recording Academy's handling of its Asian pop category, according to the Korea Times. The move signals growing frustration among K-pop artists over how their music is categorised and recognised by the US awards body, and comes as K-pop's global commercial clout continues to outpace its Grammy recognition.

Why now: K-pop fans and industry watchers are debating the Grammys' treatment of Asian pop acts after major artists pulled out.
