Putin predicts the EU will collapse without outside help
Original: "NO NEED, THEY'LL COLLAPSE ON THEIR OWN!" — Putin on the future of the EU at Valdai
Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club, Vladimir Putin dismissed suggestions that Russia needs to work against the European Union, saying there is 'no need' because the bloc will 'collapse on its own.' The remark frames the EU as internally weakened, and comments around it are debating whether the prediction reflects reality or Kremlin wishful thinking.
Why now: Putin's provocative claim about the EU's imminent decline feeds ongoing debate over Europe's political and economic cohesion during the Ukraine war.
