US expels two members of Iranian UN delegation
Original: 2 members of Iranian UN delegation ‘kicked out’ of US, State Department says
The US State Department says it has removed two members of Iran's delegation to the United Nations from the country. The announcement, first reported by the Times of Israel, comes as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high. The US has not detailed the specific reasons for the expulsion, and Iran has not yet publicly responded to the decision.
Why now: It escalates already strained US-Iran relations during the UN General Assembly period.
