Commentators Challenge the 'It Doesn't Affect Me' Defense of ICE
Original: “It Doesn’t Affect Me” - The Problem With Defending ICE | Forrest Valkai + Ari
Commentators Forrest Valkai and Ari joined Jimmy Snow's show The Line to discuss ICE and the argument that enforcement actions are acceptable so long as they do not personally affect the person defending them. They argue this mindset ignores harm done to immigrants and others targeted, framing indifference as a moral failing. The discussion is drawing significant attention amid ongoing debate over US immigration enforcement.
Why now: Ongoing controversy over ICE operations is prompting debate about the ethics of indifference toward those affected.
