Purdue to scatter Degas sculptures across campuses
Purdue University is preparing to place sculptures by French artist Edgar Degas at locations across its campuses. The plan would distribute the bronzes, associated with the Impressionist-era artist best known for his dancers, at multiple campus sites rather than a single venue. Details such as which works are included, how many, and the timeline for installation were not given in the initial report.
Why now: A major university dispersing works by a renowned artist across its campuses is an unusual and eye-catching art news story.
