Trump says he 'feels badly' for accused Cornell gang rapists
Original: Trump says ‘I feel badly’ for accused Cornell gang rapists because his nemesis is investigating them
Donald Trump said he 'feels badly' for students accused of a gang rape at Cornell University, arguing the investigation is being led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who previously prosecuted him for business fraud. Critics called the comments an attack on the victims, while supporters echoed his claim that James is politically motivated. The case involves Ivy League students and has reignited debate over Trump's grudges.
Why now: Trump's sympathy for rape suspects over his personal feud with Letitia James is striking and controversial.
