Steam ends universal Daily Deals, sparking debate
Original: No more (universal) Daily Deals on Steam... is that good?
Valve has reportedly discontinued universal Daily Deals on Steam, the long-running promotion that discounted a single game across the storefront each day. Industry analysts, including the GameDiscoverCo newsletter, are asking whether the change is good for developers and players, with discussion centring on how discovery and discounting on the platform may shift.
Why now: The removal of a familiar Steam promotion raises questions about how game visibility and discounting will change for developers and players.
