Steam ends universal Daily Deals, sparking debate
Original: No more (universal) Daily Deals on Steam... is that good?
Valve has discontinued Steam's universal Daily Deals, the long-running daily discounts that applied storewide, according to GameDiscoverCo. The change means fewer sitewide one-day promotions, with discounts expected to shift toward more targeted or event-based offers. Industry observers are divided on whether this is positive for developers and shoppers, with some welcoming less pressure to discount and others concerned about reduced visibility for games.
Why now: Valve's removal of a familiar Steam discount format directly affects how PC gamers find deals and how developers price games.
