A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for blowing up an ultra-low emission zone (ULEZ) camera in south-east London. The case highlights the extreme end of opposition to the expansion of London's ULEZ charge scheme, which has been politically contentious in the capital and surrounding areas. Commenters are framing the severity of the sentence and the attack itself as acts of terrorism.
Why now: The unusually harsh 15-year sentence for destroying a traffic camera is drawing attention amid ongoing anger over London's ULEZ expansion.
