Shopper finds heat pump dryers absent from store shelves
Original: # heatpump dryer shopping, was at Home Despot and ran into a chatty appliance salesman. Zero HP dryers in stock besides
A shopper in California hunting for a heat pump clothes dryer reports that a Home Depot branch had none in stock apart from washer-dryer combo units. A salesperson there said standalone heat pump dryers are not selling because customers do not want them. The shopper expressed frustration that people complain about high energy prices yet keep buying less efficient resistive electric dryers, and questioned the choice.
Why now: Rising energy costs and interest in efficient appliances are making heat pump dryers a recurring point of debate among consumers.
