Tony Romo and CBS Sports have mutually agreed to part ways, according to the Los Angeles Times, with the split coming after the former NFL quarterback's arrest for operating while intoxicated. Romo had served as the network's lead NFL color commentator, and his departure leaves a major void in CBS's broadcast booth heading into the new season.
Why now: A high-profile broadcaster's arrest and immediate exit from a major network's top commentary role is significant sports news.
