Internet Society Warns on Terrorist Designation Consequences
Original: La Posizione Della Internet Society Sulle Conseguenze Della Designazione Di a/I Come Organizzazione Terroristica Globale
The Internet Society has issued a position statement on the consequences of designating antifascist movements as a global terrorist organization. The group argues that the open internet is built from many interconnected networks and is resilient enough to withstand incursions, warning that such designations threaten the free and open internet. Italian-language discussions of the statement are circulating among digital-rights communities.
Why now: Digital rights advocates are alarmed that terrorist designations could justify restrictions on internet infrastructure and free expression.
