Internet Society Warns on Terrorist Designation Consequences
Original: La Posizione Della Internet Society Sulle Conseguenze Della Designazione Di a/I Come Organizzazione Terroristica Globale
The Internet Society has issued a position statement on the consequences of designating Autistici/Inventati (A/I), an Italian activist internet collective, as a global terrorist organization. The statement argues that the open internet is built on many interconnected networks and should be resilient enough to withstand incursions, warning that such designations threaten the free and open internet.
Why now: The designation of a longstanding activist internet infrastructure collective as a terrorist organization has raised alarms about free speech and internet freedom.
