A SpaceX Dragon capsule has docked with the International Space Station just under eight hours after launch, the fastest a US spacecraft has ever reached the orbiting outpost. Four astronauts from the United States, Canada and Russia are aboard the capsule. The unusually quick rendezvous is drawing attention as a milestone for US crewed spaceflight, with the multinational crew highlighting continued US-Russian cooperation in orbit despite tensions on the ground.

Why now: The record-fast docking and the multinational crew, including a Russian astronaut, make it notable news.
