Less than 1% of GOP midterm ads mention Trump

Original: Less than 1% of GOP midterm ads mention Trump: What's really going on

An analysis by CNN reports that fewer than 1% of Republican midterm campaign advertisements mention Donald Trump, a striking absence given his prominence in the party. The finding suggests GOP candidates are deliberately distancing themselves from the former president on the airwaves as they seek support in swing districts and from moderate voters ahead of the midterm elections.

Why now: It signals a strategic shift by Republican candidates distancing themselves from Trump ahead of the midterms.
