Poison bread and unaffordable circuses: satire of modern poverty
Original: Posion bread, unaffordable circuses, just subscriptions and microplastics. # Zer0Billionaires # socialsciences # poverty
A sharply worded comment on the cost-of-living crisis is circulating, riffing on the old 'bread and circuses' idea: people face contaminated food, microplastics and endless paid subscriptions instead of affordable pleasures. Framed under the label 'Zer0Billionaires', it ties everyday hardship to inequality and US politics, with poverty and social-science hashtags amplifying the critique among left-leaning readers.
Why now: Ongoing frustration with inflation, inequality and corporate power is driving dark-humoured commentary about the declining quality of modern life.
