UK police have arrested an Iranian national at RAF Fairford under the Terrorism Act, according to the Guardian. The arrest is drawing sarcasm online, with commenters suggesting authorities will frame the incident as terrorism linked to Palestine Action, reflecting distrust of official narratives. The airbase has previously been the site of protests and security incidents.
Why now: A terrorism arrest involving an Iranian national at a UK military base fuels both security concerns and scepticism about how the government will characterise the incident.
