A British-Iranian national has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in connection with an incident at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, according to the Guardian. The airbase has previously hosted US military aircraft, and any arrest involving UK-Iran nationals under counter-terrorism powers tends to draw close scrutiny amid ongoing tensions between Britain and Iran.
Why now: Counter-terrorism arrests linked to a sensitive military airbase and a UK-Iran national raise security concerns amid UK-Iran tensions.
