Original: UK-Iran national arrested under Terrorism Act over RAF Fairford incident https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/oct/01

A UK-Iran dual national has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in connection with an incident at RAF Fairford, a British airbase in Gloucestershire. Details of the alleged offence have not yet been made public, and police are expected to question the suspect while the investigation continues. The case is drawing attention because of the individual's Iranian background and the airbase's strategic importance to UK and US military operations.

Why now: The arrest combines national security, Iranian links and a sensitive military site, making it a major UK news story.
