IDF Launches Site Claiming Gaza Journalists Were Hamas Operatives
Original: IDF Launches Site Allegedly Showing Gaza Journalists Were Hamas Operatives
The Israeli military has launched a website alleging that a number of journalists in Gaza were active Hamas operatives. The move escalates an ongoing dispute over the status of media workers in the territory, where Israel has faced criticism over journalist casualties and press access. The claims and the evidence presented have not been independently verified, and press freedom groups have repeatedly challenged similar assertions.
Why now: The publication of alleged intelligence linking journalists to Hamas reignites controversy over media freedom and Israel's conduct in the Gaza war.
