Border residents say ICE enforcement tactics have gone too far
Original: El Paso, Rio Grande Valley residents say ICE tactics have gone too far, poll finds
A new poll finds that most residents of El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley believe US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has gone too far with its enforcement tactics. The survey, reported by El Paso Matters, suggests that even in heavily border-region communities, local opinion is turning against the methods used in immigration operations, a notable shift given these areas are often assumed to back tougher enforcement.
Why now: Fresh polling shows opposition to ICE tactics even in border communities, challenging assumptions about local support for hardline enforcement.
