Trump threatens France and Germany over US diesel

Original: Donald # Trump menace la # France et l’ # Allemagne d’un embargo sur le # diesel # américain si elles ne puisent pas dan

Donald Trump has threatened France and Germany with an embargo on American diesel unless they draw on their emergency stocks. Reports circulating mainly in French-language discussions describe the ultimatum, with commenters reacting sharply, dismissing the US president's attempt to influence European energy and political decisions and criticising what they see as interference in national policy.

Why now: A fresh threat of a US diesel embargo on two major European economies has immediate energy and market implications.
