Trump removes chairs for TSA agents over fitness requirements
Original: Trump removes chairs for TSA agents, saying they ‘must meet fitness for duty requirements’
President Trump has ordered chairs removed from TSA checkpoints, saying airport security agents 'must meet fitness for duty requirements'. The directive means screeners will stand while working, with the administration framing it as a way to keep staff alert on the job. The move is drawing attention because it affects thousands of TSA workers at airports nationwide.
Why now: A direct order affecting TSA working conditions at airports nationwide is unusual and controversial.
