Trump administration removes chairs for TSA agents
Original: Trump removes chairs for TSA agents, saying they ‘must meet fitness for duty requirements’
The Trump administration has ordered chairs removed for Transportation Security Administration agents, saying screeners 'must meet fitness for duty requirements'. The move, reported by Fortune, means TSA staff at airport checkpoints will have to remain standing on the job. It is part of a broader push on physical fitness standards for federal workers, and it has drawn criticism from those who call it punitive towards frontline staff.
Why now: The unusual policy of taking away chairs from airport security workers is being discussed as part of the administration's wider fitness push for federal employees.
