CHOMPI sampler discontinued, relaunched as open-source project
Original: CHOMPI is discontinued but lives on as an open-source sampler
The CHOMPI sampler, a small lo-fi sampling instrument, has been officially discontinued, but the project will continue in a new form: its software is being released as an open-source sampler. This means users and developers can now freely access, modify, and build on the instrument's code, extending its life beyond the original product and keeping a beloved tool alive within the music-making community.
Why now: Musicians and hardware fans are reacting to the end of a popular instrument while welcoming its open-source continuation.
