Iowa Stage Theatre Company stages 'Reefer Madness' at Stoner Theater
Original: Iowa Stage Theatre Company brings 'Reefer Madness' to — where else — the Stoner Theater
Iowa Stage Theatre Company is mounting a production of the satirical musical 'Reefer Madness' at the Stoner Theater in Des Moines, a venue whose name makes it an unintentionally fitting home for the show. The musical mocks the 1936 anti-marijuana propaganda film of the same name, and locals are noting the comic coincidence of pairing the production with the theater.
Why now: The humorous coincidence of the 'Reefer Madness' musical playing at a venue called the Stoner Theater is drawing local attention.
