The UK and France have scrapped their 'one in, one out' migrant scheme, under which Channel crossings were to be reduced in exchange for legal routes to Britain for a matched number of asylum seekers. The BBC reported the ending of the arrangement, prompting debate over the future of Anglo-French cooperation on small boat crossings and immigration policy.
Why now: The scrapping of a flagship UK-France migration deal has major implications for Channel crossings policy.
